Our Services in brief

Topographical Surveys

A topographical survey can range from a basic boundary and level survey giving a base for an initial feasibility study, to a full detailed survey including above ground features (trees, street furniture, utility covers etc.) which will give a comprehensive plan for detailed planning.

For greater accuracy we find it better for our surveyors to process their own surveys rather than using a second party who has not seen the site.

Utilizing our processing software we produce drawings and digital terrain models (DTM) to the clients requirements.

Measured Building Surveys

A building survey comprises of several different elements; floor plans, elevations and sections. Where possible we use total stations to survey the main features and their alignment, later adding detail with lap-tops and disto`s. For elevations and visible in-accessible areas we use the non-contact (DR) which is built into our total stations.

  • Floor Plans: The type of floor plans required can vary from a 'basic structural elements' (where visible and accessible) to 'detail floor plans' where electrical and mechanical features such as radiators, electrical sockets and switches are also required.
  • Elevations: The type of elevation required can vary from a basic outline (silhouette) elevation to more intricate elevation with detailed masonry and windows. We also undertake internal elevations showing timber frame elements and street scene elevations.
  • Sections: Sections are generated through a building to show the change in floor and ceiling levels.

Setting-out

We use our total stations and setting out software to give an accurate and fast service. We set-out buildings, boundaries, road layouts and drainage.

As-Built Surveys

Sunshine Survey under take as-built surveys using the same methods and technology as a topographical survey.

Software and Formats

The survey processing software we use is Geosite Office, PDS and AutoCad enabling us to produce finished drawings and digital terrain models (DTM) in the following formats:

  • Hardcopy: Paper of stable film prints.
  • Digital formats 2d and 3d: dwg, dxf, pds, pdf and jpeg image files.

Equipment

Sunshine Survey have invested in one man robotic total stations with field software running on an external ACU data collectors, the total station has a non-contact Direct Reflex (DR) built in, enabling us to survey features remotely without gaining direct access.

Together with our total stations we use GPS receiver equipment giving us flexible and accurate capabilities.
